Insights into Historical China through Postcards of the Time

The book illustrates the early Chinese life through an excess of 1600 postcard images whose historical journey spans the late 1890s into the first decades of the 20^th century, an era when it was a privilege to send and receive postcards from an exotic country, especially one as far as China. From a period, void of the Internet and digital camera, and when the use a phone was limited to the privileged few, each postcard is worth a thousand words. On a par with the recent Internet revolution, the postcards revolutionized the worlds’ communicating by being the first widely circulated form of pictorial documentation.
